MOUNTAINS


RIGI

STANSERHORN

The exciting trip up the Stanserhorn on the CabriO cableway and funicular railway, which dates back to 1893, is like taking a trip through cableway history. A 100 kilometer Alpine chain, 10 Swiss lakes, Stanserhorn rangers, marmots, a plant protection area with enchanting flora and fauna, culinary delights in the revolving restaurant.


KLEWENALP

The Klewenalp-Stockhütte area offers day and vacation guests a wide range of summer and winter activities to suit every taste. Boat trip to Beckenried. Family-friendly hiking area directly on the shores of Lake Lucerne. Tip: Breakfeast in the Gondola starts at 9am.


ENGELBERG / TITLIS / BRUNNI

Engelberg/Titlis: With your feet on the glacier and your head in the sky – experience the summit of your dreams now! By train to Engelberg and ascent with the Titlis Rotair. On the other side of the valley is the Brunni (family-friendly). Tip: Puzzle fun during the train ride.


MELCHSEE-FRUTT

As a day trip by train/bus from Lucerne or as the final stop on the 4-lake hike, the Melchsee-Frutt region is ideal for family-friendly hikes in the mountains or fishing in the mountain lake.


BRIENZER ROTHORN

There is much to delight connoisseurs and hikers on the Brienzer Rothorn, highest peak in Lucerne. The panoramic sight of the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau is simply astonishing. A cable car from Sörenberg, while the railway with steam locomotives runs from Brienz to the summit every day. The mountain stations and the viewing platform are both a short, easy walk away.


INTERLAKEN / GRINDELWALD

Lungern/Interlaken: On the way to Interlaken just before the top of Brünig pass, there is a beautiful viewpoint over lake lungern. The restaurant Kaiserstuhl and Passhöhe1013 are suitable for a stopover. On the way from Brünig to Meiringen you will find Ballenberg, a swiss open-air museum. CITY TRIPS

Switzerland has no large cities. Switzerland itself is a large city with many small districts. Zurich, BernBasel, Aarau, Zug can be reached in an hour and are ideal for a day trip. Geneva, Lausanne, Fribourg in the west, Lugano in the south and St. GallenChur in the east. Solothurn, Winterthur, Stein am Rhein, Bellinzona, Murten, Walenstadt, Sursee, Zofingen, Montreux... there are many places with old towns to discover.


LAVAUX / LAKE GENEVA

RHINE FALLS

Rhine Falls Schaffhausen: Huge volumes of water fall over the rocks across a width of 150m. So, take courage: don’t miss the journey and climb to the central rock. From Schloss Laufen, a footpath leads you past the thundering waters to the Fischetz platform. The largest waterfall in Europe is located in the north. Munot Castle is in the immediate vicinity. The excursion can be combined with a visit to the city of Zurich.

4 LAKES TRAIL ENGELBERG

4 Lakes Trail: The route is one of the most beautiful panoramic hikes in Switzerland and combines everything you want from a hike in the Alps: varied trails, fantastic views, crystal blue lakes and cozy mountain huts that invite you to take a break. Start Trübsee / 18.4km / 600hm


HOHLE GASSE KÜSSNACHT

If you're in the area, you should take the time to walk through the historic alley. On your way to Lucerne, just off the highway have a look. Next to the alley is a nice picnic area with lots of tables and benches as well as a barbecue and a fountain. On the other side of the entrance to the lane there are various display windows on the history of Wilhelm Tell. Parking is directly in front.


AARE GORGE

The Aare Gorge formed over thousands of years by the Aare Glacier. Quiet splashing, loud roaring, glacial water, glacial mills, limestone formations. Discover, feel and experience a natural wonder up close. Safely experience geology and glaciology through tunnels and over footbridges. Refreshing on hot summer days and an attractive and changing natural spectacle in any weather.


ST. BEATUS CAVES

The St Beatus Caves are one of the 10 largest caves in Switzerland and, along with the Hölloch in the Muota Valley, one of the few open to the public. To date, 14 kilometres of the extensive cave system have been explored, one kilometre of which is secured for visitors. The tour covers an 87-metre drop and a total of 297 steps along grottos, chambers and gorges, as well as streams, waterfalls and imposing stalactites.


SWISS MINIATUR

Swissminiatur is Switzerland’s largest open-air miniature museum. Located in Melide, on the shores of Lake Lugano, the park is surrounded by majestic mountains including Monte Generoso, San Salvatore and also San Giorgio, which has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Relax and unwind in a tranquil natural setting.
